Rrrrrrrrrring! Settle in class, it’s time to drop more knowledge on ya’ll. Mitochondria, the little power houses in our cells have the job of creating ATP. In short, ATP are molecules full of energy. Those little mighty-mitochondria use fuel (fats to be exact ) to create that valuable ATP. There are two ways to do this; one works slightly better than the other. When we use aerobic respiration, we utilize oxygen to create this energy. It’s quite possible to do this anaerobically when O2 is missing, it’s just not as effective.
Did you catch that earlier? The fuel we use to create ATP is FAT. When we want to effect our body composition, we want to train our mitochondria to burn more fat. That’s all fine and well and good, but can you imagine the bomb-ass results we can get when we build MORE FAT-BURNING mitochondria? Ta da! The answer to your question.
Tomorrow we will discuss how to begin this process. You’ve been studying hard! Probably for a good 20 seconds! Take 10. Seconds that is. You earned it. Then repeat 8 more times 😉
