The Open provides a metric system to gauge your current state as an athlete.  Your performance is not only physical; it’s mental, and emotional.  Your best is only accessible if you are practicing self-mastery.  And access does not guarantee your best performance.  All conditions must be just right for your best to be on the books.

Discipline yourself.  Find your way in, and navigate accordingly.
